Electrical

Wiring Standards

Strain relief, routing, colour coding, and the practices that pass inspection.

Most competition failures are electrical, and most electrical failures are mechanical: a wire that moved. Treat wiring as a structural task.

Rules to build byLink to this section

  • Every connector gets strain relief within 50 mm.
  • Red is positive, black is negative — no exceptions, ever.
  • Route wires along structure, never across moving mechanisms.
  • Leave a service loop at every joint that rotates.
  • Label both ends of every cable.

Inspection essentialsLink to this section

  • Main power switch is visible and reachable.
  • Battery is strapped down, not zip-tied to a wire.
  • No exposed copper anywhere.
  • Correct fuse ratings, unmodified.
